Disneyland, located in Anaheim, California is one of the most beloved theme parks in the world as children from everywhere flock to meet their favorite Disney movie characters and enjoy the various attractions and rides. Also known as the happiest place on earth, the theme park has also become a favorite date spot for many couples, with adults enjoying the atmosphere just as much as the children.
While a trip to Disneyland is enjoyable for many reasons, the day spent there can also end in turmoil, tantrums and fights due to the large, tiring nature of the park. Here are some tips that can help maximize the fun for everyone irrespective of age:
1) Take multiple food breaks. This tip is of crucial importance, because no matter what age someone is, being hungry will always lead to bad temperedness. The park is filled with awesome, often themed restaurants and food stalls at every corner. One of the most famous food items that must be tired while at Disneyland is the Dole Whip. Dole Whip can be bought at the Tiki Juice Stand and is essentially a pineapple flavored soft serve that can also be served float style with pineapple juice. It is both refreshing and absolutely delicious.
Another famous food item many people love to eat at Disneyland is a huge turkey leg that can be bought at the Turkey Leg Cart.Whether its pretending you're part of The Flintstones, taking pictures of it to share on social media to show everyone just how giant the leg is or to just enjoy the great taste, the turkey leg is one of the park's signature food items that is worth a try. Other than these two items, there are of course so many different food options. So when you visit, take a break to just sit down and put some energy back into your body because this is key to keeping everyone is good spirits.
2) Bring your phone charger to the park and instead of paying for the expensive locker in the Downtown Disney area to charge it, find outlets in the many stores around the park. There is no denying that you're going to be using your phone a lot to take pictures and videos, and that your battery will soon drain. While buying a locker to charge the phone is always an option, it is also known that there are many outlets in the stores that sell clothes and other Disneyland souvenirs. The cashiers don't seem to mind and charging your phone inside a store is a free and simple easy way to regain cell battery while looking around to possibly buy some Disney souvenirs.
3) Download games on your cellphone to occupy your kids or friends in line. Everyone knows that all year long, the lines at Disneyland will always be long especially for the very popular rides such as Space Mountain and the Indiana Jones Ride. Because standing in line with nothing to do for a long period of time can often ignite fights, playing games that involve everyone can be helpful. One great game app to download is 'Heads Up!' a digital version of charades.
4) Arrive at the park as early as possible in the morning. Invariably, the lines for the various attractions are a little shorter in the morning and the area in front of the beautiful Disney castle and popular Disney characters are less crowded. Additionally, starting early lets you finish the more tiring rides in the morning while everyone's energy is up, leaving the less intense attractions for the evening.
5) Take your time. It's understandable that you want to go on every single ride and see every single attraction in the theme park but sometimes it just is not possible. It is more important to have an enjoyable and relaxed time than a rushed time filled with arguments and fighting. Don't feel like you need to see everything; instead look at the map and figure out which attractions are most important for you and prioritize. If everything cannot be seen, don't worry; happy memories are more important than covering every inch of the theme park.
All in all, Disneyland is a beautiful and extremely enjoyable theme park. These tips above will simply help maximize the fun and make sure that Disneyland truly lives up to its name of being "The Happiest Place on Earth."
