Britain's Prince William and his wife, Kate arrived in New York Sunday morning.
The formally known as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge took a commercial flight as they paved the way in New York by motorcade to their temporary residence in Manhattan. They arrived at around 5 pm at the Carlyle Hotel.
William told the hotel managing director Giovanni Beretta that it is their pleasure to stay at Carlyle Hotel. "It's good to be here," he said. Upon arrival, the couple was escorted to their luxury suite that offers the view of the Central Park.
Their visit to the East Coast will only last for two days. They started their trip with the duke's meeting with President Barack Obama on Monday morning. Later on the evening the duke and duchess will sit courtside for the Nets-Cavaliers game in Brooklyn. In line with this, they would be meeting with the Barclays Center regulars such as Jay Z and Beyonce. Their trip to East Coast will end on Tuesday night with a gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art as they mark the 600th anniversary of their alma mater-St. Andrew. The said gala is expected to be star-studded.
The international spotlight is on New York presently. Upon the arrival of the royal couple on Sunday evening, The Empire State Building welcomed them with warm greetings along with elaborate lights. The itinerary of the couple's first visit to New York is carefully orchestrated since it will be only for two days.
Eyes would definitely be on the duchess' and her choices of clothes. It is said that Kate wears clothes by the designers from the country she is visiting. So, in this case, people are expecting American apparel names on the headlines during her visit in the country. Much of her outfit and appearance would be expected on the events they would be attending to. It is as if that her attire in events-be it a gala or a casual evening outing-is what matters during her stay in New York as if it would make such big of a deal.
