National Brownie Day 2014 is to take place on Dec. 8, and if you are still not ready to be one with the country in celebrating this chocolate-filled occasion, then perhaps this brownie recipe will help you decide.
According to Cute-Calendar, the tradition of baking brownies started in the 19th century, and since then the baked square or bar-shaped chocolate treats gained a large following in the U.S. and in Canada.
While the typical brownie comes in a variety of forms, they still have the same texture - a cross between a cookie and a cake.
Apart from just its chocolaty taste, brownies also include a number of flavorful elements i.e. nuts, frosting, whipped cream and chocolate chips, among others.
Interestingly, National Day Calendar reports that the first ever brownie recipe was published way back in 1904 in the Laconia, NH "Home Cookery."
It isn't really clear when this National Brownie Day tradition came from, but it surely is the best day for all people who yearn for the yumminess of this snack bar.
