iPad Air 2 Review: Critic Dubs New Apple Tablet As The 'Perfect Tablet'

Critics have found the "perfect tablet" when Apple released iPad Air 2. The new tablet sports the Apple's newest innovation for their devices.

The first iPad Air was arguably the finest tablet ever released until Apple launched its second version, iPad Air 2, TechRadar reported.

Critics remarked that Apple has enhanced iPad Air 2 into "perfection" with the combination of its power, upgraded OS, improved screen and better design.

The iPad Air 2 is a 9.7-inch display with a resolution of 1536 x 2048. Its predecessor sported the same display but Apple integrated zero air gap screen on the latest device. The tablet is claimed to feature anti-reflective coating, which reduces screen reflections by 56%, according to TechRadar. This improvement gives users clearer, brighter pictures.

The new iPad Air is also thinner after Apple took 1.44 mm from the original device, making iPad Air 2 only 6.1mm thick. iPad Air 2 is currently the world's thinnest tablet.

Apple has also installed its new A8x chip, which is specific only for Apple tablets. The chip supposedly provides 40% faster CPU performance for applications and loads graphics 2.5 times faster. The improvement in graphic performance also means better quality graphics in games for iPad Air 2. The M8 motion co-processor, which resides inside iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, is also integrated in iPad Air 2.

The new tablet runs in iOS 8.1, which is Apple's latest operating system for its mobile platform.

The iPad Air 2 also has Apple's new 8MP iSight camera with a f/2.4 aperture, including 1080p video recording and 720p slo-mode video capabilities. Auto HDR, panorama, burst mode and macro mode, time lapse are also present in the camera's specifications. The new face time camera on the front of the device has a f/2.2 aperture, which allows more light to enter. It also has an HD resolution with HDR built in.

Apple also added its Touch ID feature, which users have frequently requested. The Touch ID is a fingerprint identity sensor which unlocks the user's iPhone devices with just a touch of the Home button, according to Apple. This feature also allows users to authorize purchases from iTunes Store, App Store and iBooks Store through Apple Pay.

The device is also promised to provide 10 hours battery life. Furthermore, Apple claims new and faster Wi-Fi and LTE for the iPad Air 2. As a matter of fact, iPad Air 2 is being supported by 20 different LTE bands, which means the device will most likely be compatible with any network.

Interested Apple customers can buy iPad Air 2 in silver, space gray and the new gold variant.

Regarding the tablet's price, iPad Air 2 starts at $499, £399, AU$619 for the 16GB Wi-Fi only model, with 64GB of internal storage setting you back $599, £479, AU$739 and 128GB costing $699, £559, AU$859. The device retails at $629, £499, AU$779 for 16GB, $729, £579, AU$899 for 64GB and $829, £659, AU$1019 for 128GB with inclusion of 4G.

Meanwhile, Apple released another video ad to promote iPad Air 2, Venture Beat reported. The 60-second commercial was entitled "Change is in the Air." It features the different ways people are using iPad to improve their lives.

The iPad Air 2 has been launched since late October.
