Roberto Orci "Star Trek" - The director of the sci-fi film has decided to drop out. Despite "Star Trek into the Darkness" gaining great views, this did not stop Director Roberto Orci from dropping out of his seat and from the film. What could have led to his decision?
If J.J Abrams is known for the science fiction film "Star Wars," Robert Orci is "Star Trek." Yet, this is unlikely the case with the latest reports from Deadline stating Orci has decided to drop out from the film. While he still remains on board for the 2016 production of "Star Trek into the Darkness" sequel, the film is aggressively looking for a new director.
Why did Robert Orci "Star Trek" drop out suddenly? According to Badass Journal, disagreement over the script for the third instalment of "Star Trek" caused problems. The script was said to be written by Patrick McKay and J.D. Payne. It remains unclear if Paramount Studios will push on with the script or write an entirely new one for the new director.
With Robert Orci "Star Trek" out of the director's chair, reports claim that Paramount is eyeing "Shaun of the Dead" director, Edgar Wright. Wright has long been known to admire sci-fi films and series. Given he is a good friend of Simon Pegg, Wright could just be the director the sequel for "Star Trek" needs.
For now with Roberto Orci "Star Trek" director out of the lead seat, the 2016 sequel for the sci-fi film could potentially be in trouble. Of course, there are other sci-fi films to take note of in the coming years. This would include the "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" film, of which the trailer made its debut a week past. The film has J.J. Abrams as the director.
Surprisingly, J.J. Abrams was also the director for "Star Trek" before he dropped out. During such time, Paramount quickly hired another director, Roberto Orci "Star Trek," for the film.
