Fortunately, Beanie Sigel is not dead despite obtaining a life-threatening wound out of the tragic incident.
Authorities said that the 40-year-old rapper has awoken following a successful surgery on Friday afternoon.
Pleasantville Police Chief Jose Ruiz said investigators are to interview him already about the incident now that he is conscious.
Contradictory to Beanie Sigel dead rumours, the rapper (born Dwight Grant) was found outside his home early morning with another man. And both of them were injured.
The other man, who is yet to be identified, was said to be uncooperative to the assistance the police were offering him.
Investigators initially said that Sigel and the other man may have "some type of family relationship."
Speaking on the incident that sparked Beanie Sigel dead rumours, investigators said, "Apparently, there was a struggle of some type, which led to Mr. Grant being shot and that is all we have at this point."
Meanwhile, the rapper's attorney, Fortunato Perro Jr. insisted that Sigel was not at all the intended target of the shooting, according to WISTV.
No other details on how Beanie is doing following the surgery was released by authorities.
The Beanie Sigel dead rumor and shooting incident surfaced months after he got arrested in Philly for drugs and gun possession.
At the time, the rapper, who is famous for his work with Snoop Dogg and Jay-Z, was reportedly caught during a traffic stop by police who noticed that his car was filled with drugs, cash and a gun.
He was arrested alongside the driver of the vehicle. And both were charged with gun and drug violations, reports TMZ.
Previously, Sigel was also sentenced to two years in prison for failing to file tax returns from 2003 to 2005.
