Brady Hoke Press Conference Leaves Michigan Wolverines Coach Jobless: ‘Results Not Enough’ Says Interim AD

The Brady Hoke Press Conference on Tuesday ended on a sour note for the Michigan Wolverines coach, who has worked with the team for four seasons.

Apparently Interim Athletic Director Jim Hackett was not pleased with the 56-year-old's records that he finally decided to fire him, Detroit News reports.

"I believe Brady had enough time to produce results, and they're just not there" Hackett said.

"This was not an easy decision," he added. "Everywhere I go there is zero question about Brady's values."

It was quite a big disappointment given that on the very same day, Hoke laid out his plan for the Big Ten championships and his goal of focusing on rival Ohio State.

Despite Hackett's decision, Hoke said in a statement that he is still very thankful of the big opportunity given to him.

"I want to thank all of the sons that played for our teams and appreciate the commitment that our coaches and support staff made to the program every day," he said in the statement for he refused to speak at a news conference, according to ESPN.

"I will miss the relationships that I've been fortunate enough to make within this university and community," he added. "I additionally appreciate all of the support that our fans, alumni, students, administration and former players have provided our program. I leave with fond memories of my experience at Michigan."

Meanwhile, prior to the Brady Hoke Press Conference, Hackett already made up his mind on axing the football coach from the team on Sunday.

His decision was mainly a result of his review on Hoke's performance, especially when the team finished 5-2 this season following their loss at Ohio State.

Amid the sad news, some of the players took to social media to express their thoughts on the issue.

QB Shane Morris wrote, "I love Coach Hoke and I wish him the best of luck wherever he goes. I can honestly say I'm in envy of the players who will be lucky enough to play for him in the future."

Moving on from Hoke's firing, Hackett is looking for a potential replacement, and he revealed that he is going to enlisted a head-hunting form this time to ensure that the next one will be a perfect match for the Michigan Wolverines.

However, Hackett is being mum on the possible candidates he already has in mind.

In spite of the sudden forced departure from the team, Hoke is expected to get $3 million buyout per his contract.

Hackett is the interim replacement after Dave Brandon, who hired Hoke, reigned on Oct. 31, noted Sporting News.
