LG has to respond to a lot of expectations for their upcoming device. The company hasn't announced an official release date yet, but rumors about the anticipated smartphone are already circulating in the tech world.
LG's latest device LG G3 is considered the "best smartphone," increasing the expectations of users regarding the forthcoming LG G4 release, according to PC Advisor.
When it comes to price, LG devices are known to cost cheaper than rival smartphones. If LG continues this habit, LG G4 will more likely retail at around $500.
On the other hand, LG will have to work a lot with LG G4's physical features since consumers nowadays pick smartphones because of design. The company has recently revealed a 5.3-inch full HD screen that features bezels 0.8mm thick. LG G4 is expected to feature a QHD panel at least 5.5 inches in size.
President and Head of IT/Mobile Development Group at LG Display Byeong-koo Kim acknowledged the need for larger screen size, according to Trusted Reviews.
"With the growing trend for large-screen smartphones, customer demand for displays with a narrow bezel is increasing, because it enables users to enjoy the maximum use of screen area without compromising excellent grip and design," Byeong-koo said.
He added that with their "innovative product having many advantages," LG Display will likely to continue in leading the growing market of large-screen smartphones, satisfying customer expectations through the enhancement of their devices' quality.
The upcoming device will likely to run in Android's latest release, Android 5.0 Lollipop, PC Advisor reported. The device is also rumored to come with LG's own Nuclun processor. The Nuclun is an octa-core processor with LTE-A Cat 6 network capabilities.
By the time LG G4 will be released, smartphone companies will be competing in battery rating. If LG wishes for their upcoming smartphone to be a hit, they will need to offer good battery backup, according to LG G4 Updates.
Despite LG opting against waterproof design, expectant buyers are still hoping for such upgrade.
LG G4 is speculated to be due out around the middle of 2015. Supposing that smartphone manufacturers are consistent with their releases, LG is expected to launch the device in May or June.
