Gauhar Khan Assaulted - Gauhar Khan, actress and model from India, has reportedly been slapped by a 24-year-old male at the set of a musical reality show she hosts, India's "Raw Star." The Sunday incident of Gauhar Khan assaulted allegedly occurred as the man was against Khan wearing short clothes with her job.
The show was shooting for its grand finale episode at Studio number 9, Film City in Goregaon East, when the incident with Gauhar Khan assaulted took place. Police said the man, Akil Malik, who is a member of the audience, just walked up to the stage, misbehaved with Khan and slapped her.
After the incident of Gauhar Khan assaulted, she can be seen on video visibly traumatised, reports Mirror.
The man initially accused Gauhar of wearing short clothes despite being a Muslim before the attack. He also made vulgar comments first then afterwards physically assaulted her, according to the Deccan Chronicle.
"While Gauhar called for her make-up artist for a touch up, the intruder climbed on to the stage and hit Gauhar, who was taken by surprise. She started crying and shouted, 'Isko pakaddo, kaun hai woh?'," said a source of the incident with Gauhar Khan assaulted.
"Malik told the actress that he was against her wearing short clothes before slapping her. He touched her inappropriately as well," said a police officer. "Following this, guards deployed at the show intervened and stopped him. He was immediately handed over to the police. We took him in custody and have sent him for medical examination. He will be arrested soon."
With Gauhar Khan assaulted, how the attack came to be is still a mystery as the man was able to get close to Khan despite over 250 security guards in the area. The venue was reportedly packed with more than 2,000 people.
People in the area rushed to help Gauhar after she was assaulted. Eventually, bouncers managed to catch the intruder. They reportedly took him into a room, where he was beaten up.
The Aarey Colony police was in the process of registering a case under sections 323, voluntarily causing hurt, and 354, which is assault or criminal force on woman with intent to outrage her modest, under the Indian Penal Code at the time of going to press, India.com reports.
"We will be taking statements from the actress. Currently we are interrogating the accused. Investigations are on," said Punjabrao Ugale, DCP of Zone 12.
At the time of Gauhar Khan assaulted, Arjun Kapoor, Sajid- Wajid, Himesh Reshammiya and Mohit Chauhan were reportedly all seated on the dais.
The incident of Gauhar Khan assaulted happened right after Mohit Chauhan's performed on the show.
Gauhar was able to recover after the horrendous assault. Gauhar showed true professionalism and continued bravely with the show for an hour.
The man behind Gauhar Khan's assault, Akil Malik, had been charged with molestation after threatening and then assaulting Khan live on air.
"Being a Muslim woman, she should not have worn such a short dress," Malik said, justifying what he had done, according to Mumbai police.
With Gauhar Khan assaulted, Malik is expected to appear in Boriwali Court today.
