The swimmer rushed out of rehab to enjoy one heck of a holiday weekend with Miss California, Nicole Johnson. Their Instagram photos sparked reports that the couple is now formally back together.
After suffering from another DUI arrest, Phelps entered treatment. His last tweet was dated Oct. 5 when he had admitted to "attending a program" to help him understand himself. Thankfully, the nightmare is over for the swimmer as he was spotted out and about with his family over the holidays. In celebration of Michael Phelps rehab being over, Phelps posted a photo on his Instagram account of him and his family over Thanksgiving dinner.
The caption reads: "What a great thanksgiving dinner with family!!!" Obviously, one woman in the photo caught the attention of the press. This was none other than Johnson, who had dated from 2007 to 2008 before calling it quits in 2011.
Yet, this was not the first photo of their reunion. After Michael Phelps rehab, Johnson and Phelps enjoyed a low key date a week ago in Baltimore. Johnson captioned the photo as: "Out with my grizzlyman @m_phelps00 #datenight #nerds #movietime."
Well, it is safe to say that Michael Phelps rehab not only helped in understanding himself but winning back the heart of his one and only Miss California. With the 2016 Olympic Games set in Rio, Phelps is going to need all the support from his girlfriend and his beloved mother, Debbie.
