Boko Haram latest news states that bombers and armed men attacked a central mosque in Kano, killing over 100 people. Tension is highly palpable in the area, especially as people do not know particularly where to vent their anger with regards to this latest strike.
Inside the mosque that was struck, the sight is reportedly shockingly devastating. The steps leading to the entrance of the building is soaked with blood. Various kinds of debris were also scattered over the mosque's floor, along with mangled prayer mats, smashed spectacles, scattered beads, and ripped pages from the Muslim holy book, the Koran.
Moreover, there are also bullet marks on the pillars of the mosque and blood splattered across its walls. Many strongly believe that the blood spatters on the walls and inside the building's dome-shaped portion belongs to the suicide bombers.
Adamu Magashia was inside quite near the imam, who, in turn, had just finished giving his sermon. It was around this time when the Boko Haram latest news attack occurred. He said, "We heard a loud sound outside, but people said let's continue praying."
"Then, a bomb went off right inside the mosque and somebody started shooting," Magashia added, "We tried to move towards the imam and there was another blast. We couldn't even see each other as we tried to escape."
Outside the building, a huge crowd was seen standing over the twisted remains of bicycles and motorbikes that quickly went up in flames when the first attack took place. The suicide bomber reportedly drove a car right into the assembled worshippers.
A separate group of people was huddled around a collection of blackened shoes that have been gathered and placed in the big open sandy area right in front of the green domed mosque. "This was the first time ever the five daily prayers were not observed in this mosque," one shocked witness said.
