Such decision was made by the grand jury consisting of three blacks and nine whites. The decision was announced on Monday night by none other than Robert P McCulloch, St. Louis County prosecutor. First in the Ferguson protest timeline was the shooting that occurred on Aug. 9. Brown along with a friend were confronted by Wilson on their way home after their quick trip to a convenience store. Brown and Wilson then get into a scuffle leading to shots fired. The teenager dies on the spot with his body left for four hours at the scene. Neighbors, who found the body, lashed out at authorities claiming Brown's body was mistreated.
Following the shootout, the next on the Ferguson protest timeline is on Aug. 10 where a candlelight vigil was held. In reasons unknown, a protest occurred with shops being robbed and cops being involved. Protestors even taunted cops at the scene by standing atop their vehicles.
