Nikki Reed movies might be busy with her career and her love life right now, but it would appear that she is also keeping herself busy advocating for animals, pit bulls in particular. She took to Instagram to tell her fans and followers how enraged she was with a current "vicious dog ban."
The 26-year-old "Twilight" star wrote a plea for pit bulls on social media on Monday. She even posted a picture of herself giving the pit bull that she adopted a huge kiss on its nose.
"URGENT!!! PLEASE READ IMMEIDATLEY!!! As a former owner of pit bulls and current adoptive mom of an incredibly sweet pit bull, as well as someone who grew up around both pit bulls and Rottweilers, I am both enraged and devastated to learn about the proposed 'vicious dog ban' or Breed Specific Law in Louisiana," Reed wrote.
"I have worked with and rehabilitated many of these dogs in the past, and though there are examples of aggressive behaviors among these breeds, there are examples of aggressive behavior among ALL breeds," Ian Somerhalder's new girlfriend stated.
"We absolutely CANNOT make sweeping generalizations like this, stereotyping animals straight to their deaths," she added. "It is a barbaric approach. It is egregiously inhumane and it makes me heartsick beyond words."
It would seem that the amazingly beautiful actress is angered by this recent turn of events with regards to pit bulls. "This is NOT a solution to a problem," she wrote. "This is a mass murder of innocent life: dogs being sentenced to die without the chance to prove the worth of their beautiful souls."
She also included a link that directs people to where they can follow her cause and help her advocate for pit bulls across the country.
Nikki Reed movies star then added, "These are people's pets, their family members, their best friends. I refuse to sit idly and allow this to happen and I'm asking you to join me in this fight RIGHT NOW."
