Burt Reynolds death reports have quickly spread all over the Internet. Fans of the famous actor across the world were immediately concerned, as some were quick to believe that their idol has, indeed, died.
However, despite its rampant spread, the recent reports were actually just part of a death hoax. Sadly for the actor, Burt Reynolds death has become part of this year's latest string of fake celebrity death reports. Thankfully, Reynolds, who is best known for his participation in "The Longest Yard", "Smokey and the Bandit", and "Boogie Nights," is alive and well.
The reports started to surface after a Facebook page, entitled RIP Burt Reynolds, garnered almost one million likes. The website's "About" page will even give its readers a believable account of the passing of the popular American actor.
"At about 11 a.m. ET on Wednesday (November 26, 2014), our beloved actor, Burt Reynolds, passed away," said the page. "Burt Reynolds was born on February 11, 1936 in Lansing. He will be missed, but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting on and liking this page."
Hundreds of Reynolds's fans were immediately flooding the page with their message of condolence for the actor and his family and friends. Without doing further research about whether or not the Burt Reynolds death were true, they logged on and expressed their sadness that their 78-year-old idol was now dead. Social media was abuzz with the actor's death hoax.
Thankfully, however, there were also others who were very skeptical about the authenticity of the Burt Reynolds death reports. Perhaps they have already learned their lesson from the previous celebrity death hoaxes that hit the Internet over the recent months.
Many mentioned that Reynolds's death was not carried on by any major American network, which somehow proved that it was not true at all. Burt Reynolds death, an actor of high stature, would definitely make the headlines if it was confirmed to be true.
