Meredith Show recently granted the wish of Counselor Kathi Bradshaw. Bradshaw got inside a wish booth in San Diego and wished to have financial help for a local military family.
That very wish was granted by the Meredith Show on Wednesday. Meredith Vieira, the host of the talk show introduced the Counselor, who works for Support the Enlisted Project, which is an organization that provides transitional and financial assistance to military members, to the family who got the blessing.
Billy and Gina Boulton, who have been in debt for quite some time now, were in tears when they found out that they were going to be gifted $20,000 from the company Ball Park Franks. Apart from the money, they were also given a year's supply of Ball Park products. In addition to these wonderful gifts, another generous company, Box.com, was also very generous to give their family yet another financial gift of $10,000.
These were such huge gifts for the Boulton family, particularly since Billy Boulton had to retire from the Marines earlier after suffering a traumatic brain injury while he was in Afghanistan. He also suffers from PTSD, or post-traumatic stress disorder, which is a condition that is quite commonly experienced by people exposed to war conditions.
"We don't do things small around here with our military families," the Meredith Show host shared while fighting back her tears. "I'm sure you shed a lot of tears for the men that you fought next to and I'm glad to see you shedding tears of joy. It means the world to me."
Bradshaw, despite not personally knowing the Boulton family, was inspired by their story and made the wish for them via "Wish Booth," which is actually a segment of the Meredith Show. The booth is transferred every now and then and the show runners chose to place it at Belmont Park at that time.
