Bret Michaels opted to be back on track right after surgery. However, his fans have been wondering on what could have possessed their idol to get back on the job right away, especially since he had some complications that put him in the hospital, even compelling him to cancel an entire show.
Still, the Poison front man has assured his loyal fans through a Facebook post that they absolutely have nothing to worry about. He thanked his well-wishers, as well as the medical staff who handled him, for taking care of his health issues.
Moreover, despite getting back to work, he does admit that his health problems have "been going on for several weeks and were extremely painful." He said, "I thought I was well enough after the first operation. However, I got a blood clot, as well as an infection, which complicated the matter."
Bret Michaels then added, "I am fortunate that I work hard to keep my diabetes under control. However, there's no doubt, after 45 years, my healing process is a little slower than a non-diabetic."
Thankfully, the singer has promised, not only his fans and family, but to himself, that he will be making "serious health and life changes" by 2015. Perhaps this will be his New Year's Resolution, as he seems to be prepared to take on 2015 as a changed man. His fans are very hopeful that he will, indeed, follow through with his promise.
Bret Michaels added that his quick return to the road was only an indication of how much he loves rock 'n' roll. "I'm not a lay-around self-pity type of guy. In fact, the second I can be out of the hospital and moving, I go," Michaels revealed. "I admit, sometimes too soon. I don't have a death wish. I just love playing music. It makes me feel good."
