Houston dog stuck in jug was rescued by a family from Houston. Fortunately for the stray puppy, some people were kind enough to help him be freed from the confining headpiece.
According to the family, they have been seeing dog around their property for weeks. The jug, which was part of a pet feeder in the Magnolia, Texas barn of Audra Bohannon, was actually open on both ends. It was Bohannon who decided to name the pup Bucky, which was short for "bucket." She believes that the Houston dog stuck in jug while he was looking for food.
Bohannon had initially planned to merely bring the Houston dog stuck in jug to the veterinarian on Tuesday, to see if the dog, a German Shepherd mix, had any identification on him, such as an identifying microchip.
She has actually spotted the dog on her property for weeks but she just could never catch it, until just a few days ago when she spotted him sleeping. Bohannon immediately called the attention of her brother so that they could work on removing the plastic from Bucky's head.
As soon as the Bucky was captured, the jug was immediately cut off. The rescue and the removal of the plastic from the Houston dog stuck in jug were even caught on video.
Until the plastic was completely and safely removed from the pup, Bohannon opted to bring him scraps of soft food that he could easily lick up in the meantime. "He was slowly starving but he was eating just enough to live," shared Bohannon.
Now that Bucky is no longer a prisoner of the jug, Bohannon's family is hopeful that they will be permitted to adopt him as their new pet. Since the Houston dog stuck in jug is believed to be only five months old, he will be in dire need of a person or family to take care of him.
