Famed Play "The Truth About Lying" Returns to HK Theatre

Hong Kong audiences are set to be treated to a return performance of the award-winning Cantonese play The Truth About Lying this April.

To be staged at the Lyric Theatre at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, the acclaimed show is being staged for the second time after proving a huge success during its original 2010 run.

The Truth About Lying follows a woman called Emily and her tumultuous relationships with her bosses at her place of work, a legal practice specialising in divorce law.

Boasting a witty script filled with trenchant observations and moments of zany frivolity, the show is directed by Lee Chun-chow and playwright Wong Wing-sze, both of whom appear in lead roles.

A cast of Hong Kong theatre veterans will bring the award-winning script to life, including the likes of Alice Lau, Joey Leung and Shaw Mei-kwan.

The two-hour play is performed in Cantonese with English subtitles, with the new run extending from April 19th to 22nd at 20:00 local time, whilst 15:00 matinees are also available on the Saturday and Sunday.

Tickets are available online now for as little as HK$140 ($18.03 USD).

AsiaRooms.com recommends a comprehensive array of Hong Kong hotels that may appeal to theatre-goers, including the Kings De Nathan.
