FSU Shooting Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity House Officialy Shut Down: Evan Wilhelm Sentenced To 20 Years, Shooting Of Ashley Cowie Accidental Due To Wilhem's Intoxication

FSU shooting Lambda Chi - A student from the Florida State University had been killed late in 2011 after being accidentally shot by a 20-year old junior from Ponte Vedra. The shooter has been identified as Evan Wilhelm whereas the victim has been identified as Ashley Cowie. A year after the FSU shooting, Wilhelm had been sentenced to 20 years imprisonment and 10 years' probation.

The FSU shooting Lambda Chi took place on Jan. 9, 2011. Wilhelm, who was allegedly intoxicated at that time, was reportedly showing off his gun, unknowing that it was loaded. Ashley took the bullet that inevitably claimed her life whereas another FSU student identified as Keith Savino was struck by the bullet on his wrist.

Following the FSU shooting Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity house that took the like of Ashley, the fraternity house has completely closed down. Before the investigation done by the Lambda Chi Alpha National was completed, the fraternity had only been suspended for a month.

As for the family of the victim involved in the FSU shooting Lambda Chi, Ashley's twin sister, Amy continues to be in remorse.

"Ashley came into this world with me by her side and she left this world with me by her side," says Amie in a report by WCTV, adding, "Every holiday and every time its my birthday, my wedding and when she's supposed to be the aunt of my kids, I will miss her by my side through it all...but with every step I take until I die, I will always be thinking about her, and always be feeling the loss in my heart."

With regards to the shooter involved in the FSU shooting Lambda Chi, Wilhelm had been sentenced on June 15 to 20 years in prison and 10 years in probation. During his trial, Wilhelm showed no guilt for his actions but did ask for the forgiveness from Ashley's family.
