One Direction, Chris Martin Ebola: Find Out Which Artists Are Making A Single To Help Fight Ebola?

One Direction, Chris Martin Ebola - A number of U.K. artists are standing up against Ebola by recording a single for the Christmas holiday, Billboard has learned.

On Saturday, some of the biggest U.K. recording artists gathered at a London studio to record a new version of "Do They Know It's Christmas," which is expected to be available for download on Monday.

Aside from One Direction and Chris Martin, other Ebola-fighting charity advocates include Ed Sheeran, ELlie Goulding, Sam Smith and Rita Ora.

The said artists are going to be part of the lineup of artists who will be singing the fourth edition of the Band Aid 30 charity single that is aimed at combating the current Ebola epidemic in Africa, as per a statement by organizer Bob Geldof.

Geldof even gushed that One Direction sang the opening for the new version, but he didn't give the full lineup of singers and their parts in the song.

"We want to make Band Aid history," U2's Bono said of the single the artists are making. "If every country had the values of Great Britain and kept the promises they make at these big G8 meetings and the like, we wouldn't have to be standing here."

Other artists who are joining One Direction and Chris Martin in the fight against Ebola are Elbow, Seal, Queen drummer Roger Taylor, Sinead O'Connor and Bastille.

The British government has reportedly agreed to waive tax on the single, which basically means that all of the money that will be raised by the song will go to the Ebola-fighting charity, reports WTHR.

Interestingly, Geldof announced that Quincy Jones is also assembling a number of U.S. artists to come up with a new rendition of the mega-hit charity song "We Are The World."

"Do They Know It's Christmas" is set to be released on Monday and it will be followed up by a CD edition featuring U.K. artists Tracey Emin a matter of three weeks later.
