Walmart's Black Friday 2014 hours will be extended, and patrons of the large discount department store will surely be thrilled to find out that the extension will not just be a couple of hours but a couple of days.
Looks like Walmart is trying to beat Best Buy and Target's Black Friday sales this year. After the latter stores unveiled their plans for Thanksgiving weekend this Tuesday, Walmart has revealed its own on Wednesday, reports USA Today.
All three rivals will be battling it in terms of selling electronics this long weekend, but Walmart will be offering more in terms of the hours it will be allotting in selling products.
For this Thanksgiving Thursday sale, Walmart will begin at 6 p.m. and a number of remarkable deals await all of its customers.
For $329, gamers will love the Xbox One bundle that already includes a $30 gift card and the new Halo Master Chief Collection. For those who want the Xbox experience, but do not want to spend that much, Walmart's Black Friday deal for Xbox 360 is only at $99.
Aside from having Walmart's Black Friday 2014 hours extended to the maximum, the world's biggest retailer also promise really big discounts on a number of devices, such as television sets, tablets, toys and other goods, ABC News has learned.
Customers will be pleased as well knowing that they don't really need to wake up that early to join the long line since the Black Friday sale madness at Walmart will last for five days.
"Black Friday is no longer about waking up at the crack of dawn to stand in long lines and hope for the best," Walmart U.S. Chief Merchandising Officer Duncan Mac Naughton said.
To further ensure that customers will enjoy their shopping experience during Walmart's Black Friday 2014 hours, the Walmart headquarters sent out an urgent memo to its store managers, asking them to ensure improved performance in their meat, dairy and produce departments.
This memo is just a reiteration of last year's memo that ordered store managers to sell aging meat and baked goods at discounted prices "to maximize the chance that those items will sell before their expiration dates."
