Rebekah Gibbs Cancer 2014 - After battling cancer for a long time, former "Casualty" star Rebekah Gibbs finally succumbed to the unfortunate condition at the age of 41, The Guardian has learned.
According to Rebekah Gibbs cancer 2014 reports, the late Devon-born actress had battled an "aggressive" type of breast cancer prior to her demise.
Her husband, Ashley Pitman, confirmed her death to the media, saying his wife passed away in the early hours of Wednesday at The Hospice in the Weald in Kent with her loved ones by her side.
"Rebekah had wonderful care and felt loved and safe right up until the end, especially with the outstanding nursing staff at the Hospice in the Weald, who were exceptional," Pitman said in a statement.
"I'd like to thank them and her dear, loving friends, from the bottom of my heart for all the love and support we received over the last year. Without which Rebekah and I would not have been able to cope," the grieving husband added.
Gibbs, who is known for her playing paramedic Nina Farr in the famous BBC medical drama from 2004 to 2006, was reportedly diagnosed of having breast cancer back in 2008.
She reportedly noticed a lump in her breast a few weeks after giving birth to her daughter, Gigi, and was later on diagnosed of the seriously fatal disease.
In her weekly column for the Daily Mirror, Gibbs detailed the moment she discovered the life-changing lump that was "one that will be etched on my memory forever".
"I close my eyes, and I am right back there, in front of the TV, feeling petrified as I desperately run my finger above my baby bump and under my breast, willing the lump to disappear," she wrote at the time. "That crushing fear has stayed with me. It's with me every day."
Upon news of Rebekah Gibbs' death after a long cancer battle this 2014 surfaced, the television actor's agent Belfield & Ward echoed a heart-warming message on Twitter saying: "Darling Rebekah Gibbs - a true inspiration and dazzling light - never to be forgotten."
Her "Casualty" co-actor James Redmond also took to Twitter to voice out a message in light of Gibbs' passing, reports the BBC.
"So sad to hear lovely Rebekah Gibbs has passed away. She lit up every room with her smile and positivity. RIP," Redmond wrote.
"The Coronation Street" star Hayley Tamaddon also paid tribute to Gibbs on Twitter.
"Sad day. My dear friend passed away today. A true star, always smiling and so positive. Never to be forgotten," Tamaddon tweeted. "So many memories. We will never forget you Becky. Keep twinkling. Wherever you are."
"Sleep well you fabulous funny talented lady Rebekah Gibbs. Bless your beautiful bonkers heart Gibbsy. Gone too soon," actor Matthew Daines shared on the same social networking site.
News of Rebekah Gibb's death came four years after she celebrated her second year of being a breast cancer survivor.
"You don't get a band waiting for you at the hospital doors, but it is a 'wow I have done my two years,'" she told the BBC back in 2010. "I won't get cocky though and I take each day as it comes. I am always a little unsure about the future."
Despite being clear of the disease for a couple of years, Gibbs received another terrible news over the summer when she suffered a huge seizure and was diagnosed of having two brain tumors, one tumor on her neck and a lesion on her lung.
As per several Rebekah Gibbs cancer 2014 reports, the television actor also appeared in "The Bill" and even participated in several West End musicals including "Fame" and "Starlight Express," according to Mirror.
