Tightrope Victoria Falls - Two daredevils completed a death defying stunt over Zimbabwe's Victoria Falls. Unlike anything ever done before, Lukas Irmler of Germany and Reinhard Kleindl of Austria walked a 100-metre tightrope over the Victoria Falls.
While most tightrope daredevils would limit themselves to skyscrapers, two daredevils from Austria and Germany had defied all odds by walking a tightrope in Victoria Falls. The pair, after securing a permission for the stunt for months, had walked on a 100-meter tightrope over Zimbabwe's daunting Victoria Falls.
The tightrope Victoria Falls daredevils managed to make it across without falling or having to rely on the safety cords strapped around their waist. As for what they could say about the stunt? Kleindl and Irmler share their experience with the tightrope Victoria Falls to News.Sky.
"Here you have a lot of spray, a lot of water in the air, floating beside you, splashing your face and it's intimidating on the one side but also distracting," shares Irmler, adding, "You need to have a clear visual view of the environment, you need to be focused on the anchor point to the very end you want to walk to and not get distracted by a lot of water crashing by the side, which is very hard mentally."
The other tightrope Victoria Falls daredevil, Kleindl, claimed the task was difficult due to everything being soaked in water.
""Optically it's very difficult because the spray comes from the sides and it's like waves, they try to drag you, so it's really difficult for the optics and obviously everything is very heavy because it's soaked with water," adds Kleindl.
Kleindl and Irmler, the two tightrope Victoria Falls daredevils, are not the only tightrope walkers to have made it to the news. In Chicago, another daredevil had managed to walk 182-meters of tightrope blindfolded. As for the death-defying stunt of the tightrope Victoria Falls daredevils, watch the video below.
