Fireball In Texas Sky Video: Sparks Interest Of Astronomy Enthusiasts, Meteor Or Sonic Boom? [VIDEO & REPORT]

Fireball in Texas sky video - Two days ago, a green to blue-colored meteor lit up the Texas sky. Residents immediately claimed this was a meteor. Despite such claims, NASA is currently investigating the strange meteor or fireball in Texas sky video.

On Saturday night, a fireball in Texas sky video went viral on the web. The video showed a meteor, blue to green in color, streaming rapidly across the sky. Astrology enthusiasts are already packing up their gear and preparing for another sighting whereas NASA is investigating the fireball if it indeed is a meteor.

"This was definitely what we call a fireball, which by definition is a meteor brighter than the planet Venus," says NASA Meteoroid Environment Office lead, Dr. Bill Cookie. "This event was so bright that it was picked up on a NASA meteor camera in the mountains of New Mexico over 500 miles away, which makes it extremely unusual. This was a very bright event."

While the fireball in Texas sky video has yet to prove that it was indeed a meteor, other residents in Texas claim that the ground shook immediately after the fireball was spotted. The National Weather Service of San Antonio was quick to report on Twitter that no meteorites were found in the area thus proving that the fireball in Texas sky video was nothing more than a sonic boom.

"Still no official confirmed reports of anyone actually witnessing the #meteor landing or where if it did. Could have been sonic boom. #txwx," states NWS San Antonio on Twitter.

The fireball in Texas sky video has obviously alerted residents in the area. As for the eyewitness account of one resident named Lara Chorn, the fireball was simply put - a fireball - and not a meteor or sonic boom.

"It was just a fireball," says Chorn of the fireball in Texas sky video, adding, "From my account, it seemed like it was just bright yellow with a white trail, and there's other accounts of a blue and green trail."
