Is Taylor Swift dead? Fans of the country crooner immediately took to social media to ask the question: "Is Taylor Swift dead?" after an NYC vintage store had posted a graffiti with the words "RIP Taylor Swift." So Taylor Swift dead or not?
After Taylor Swift was named NYC's Welcome Ambassador, not everyone was pleased with the news. One of these unhappy folk was the vintage store, La Petit Mort. Thanks to their Instagram post, everyone asked: "Is Taylor Swift dead?" What exactly started the outrageous question?
"We here at LPM have nothing but love for Taylor Swift. Rather, our comment is on the whitewashing and gentrification of New York," reads the caption on the photo. "While we realize and appreciate that New York is ever changing, when a starving artist once representative of the New York spirit is replaced by the modern 19 million dollar condo owner who drinks lattes we have to shake our heads."
"We worked with a true NY graffiti legend (Chico LES) to paint our take on the situation. Chico got his start painting memorial murals in the lower east side in the 80′s," added La Petit Mort. "While Taylor Swift is alive and well, and we wish her no harm, she did kill off yet another piece of that broken New York spirit. The idea of her being our spokesperson is DEAD and we expressed that through a ny artist. RIP TAYLOR SWIFT."
Taylor Swift is yet to address La Petit Mort's' Instagram post. As for the "death hoax" involving Swift, this is not the first time the songstress has been subject to it. Fans also went on a frenzy asking "Is Taylor Swift dead?" after the Facebook page, "RIP Taylor Swift" went viral on Nov. 2014.
"Swifties" asked the same question: "Is Taylor Swift dead?" on the social media site after a said car accident took her life. Slamming the reports once and for all, Taylor Swift is alive and well.
