Starbucks eggnog latte recipe will be back on the coffee giant's menus. Customers had a huge barrage of complaints when they found out that their holiday favorite did not appear alongside the establishment's red holiday cups on November 1st.
Starbucks decided to drop the seasonal drink, which is actually made with espresso, nutmeg, and spiced eggnog, in an attempt to streamline their menu. However, since it has been a seasonal offering since 1986, loyal Starbucks goers were far from ready to give up one of their sought-after holiday treats.
Linda Mills, the representative of Starbucks said in a statement, "We received passionate feedback from our customers talking about how much they love our eggnog latte on social media, through MyStarbucksIdea.com, through letters and via phone calls."
"These messages were emotional and personal," Mills added. "We heard them and quickly acted."
Customers of the internationally famous coffee chain in the Pacific Northwest can now enjoy their Starbucks eggnog latte recipe, but the rest of the nation will have to wait until November 17th to get their hands on the holiday drink. Starbucks has estimated that this will be around the time that they are able to stock up on the required supplies.
The Seattle-based coffee giant also felt compelled to bring back another seasonal treat, the gingerbread latte. This drink was removed from Pacific Northwestern menus, though it did remain stocked in the rest of the United States.
One user posted on Twitter, "Wait. No more eggnog lattes at Starbucks? How does this happen? I will go to Pete's from now on!" while another wrote, "@Starbucks dropped the eggnog latte from the menu??? WTF!!!! That is why I gained 8 lbs last season!"
Surely, next year, Starbucks will know better than to mess with their customers, especially when it comes to their favorite holiday treats. After all, avid coffee drinkers will want to get their highly anticipated fix at a time that everyone needs a little extra caffeine pumping in their veins.
