Sorry 'Witches of East End' Fans, Show Got CANCELLED After Raking In Really, Really Low Viewership

'Witches of East End' is cancelled after its unsuccessful sophomore run this season, raking in very low viewership from much coveted 18-49 demo.

Now everyone can add 'Witches of East End' to Lifetime's cancelled shows after the witchcraft-inspired series got axed from the network's lineup of series, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Apparently, when tasked to choose between renewing or cancelling the supernatural witch drama, Lifetime has opted for the latter because of the show's unimpressive and quite disappointing viewership for its second season.

As per viewership details, the second season of 'Witches of East End' only raked in a little more than 1 million viewers for its two-hour Oct. 31 finale.

The figure is too low, it's less than half of the 3 million viewers from the 18-49 demo its first season got.

Lifetime's decision to cancel 'Witches of East End' after two seasons comes just more than two weeks after it axed the struggling rookie dystopian themed series 'The Lottery.'

The recently cancelled witch drama starred Julia Ormond, 49; Mädchen Amick, 43; Jenna Dewan Tatum, 33 and Rachel Boston, 32.

Other cast members of the short-lived series included Daniel Di Tomasso, 31; Eric Winter, 38 and Christian Cooke, 27.

"Thank you to everyone who went on this extraordinary journey with us. Your love, kindness, and support is forever magic," Rachel Boston tweeted to her 40,000 followers following the confirmed cancellation of their show, according to Daily Mail.

Now that two shows have been cancelled, Lifetime only has 'Un-Real,' 'Damien' and its six-hour 'Lizzie Borden' miniseries starring Christina Ricci.

Nevertheless, 'Devious Maids' will continue to air after it has been renewed for a new season and is now considered as the only returning Lifetime scripted series for 2015, reports Deadline.

'Devious Maids' is expected to return with a 13-episode third season next year.

The A+E Networks-owned cable network is now gearing for a new show titled 'The Clan of the Cave Bear,' which is roughly based on the best-selling novels by Jean M. Auel.
