Navy SEAL of the United States warns its members not to reveal any of their secret missions to the public especially if it's for fame or money.
According to the recent news, Rear Admiral Brian Losey, the head of Naval Special Warfare Command denounce any members of the troops who try to seek popularity and fortune by revealing some of the most confidential details of the agency. The announcement made by Losey came out days after Fox News said that it will air a documentary about a soldier who allegedly killed the notorious terrorist, Osama bin Laden.
The documentary entitled as "The Man Who Killed Usama Bin Laden" will air in the said network within the month. Despite of the announcement made by the Navy SEALs regarding the disclosure of the secret missions, the network still has no plans of canceling the documentary's upcoming broadcast.
"Fox News has not been contacted by the Department of Defense or any other government agency expressing concern about 'The Man Who Killed Usama Bin Laden' special and we have every intention of airing it as planned on November 11th and 12th," spokesperson Carly Shanahan told AFP.
Before the said documentary will be released, the Pentagon still can't conclude if the commando involved in the documented film actually joined the raid way back in May 2011. The agency also said that Navy SEAL members are legally bound by non-disclosure agreements; thus, they are not allowed to reveal secret details about the top missions.
According to the letter written by Losey with Force Master Chief Michael Magaraci, they have a life-long commitment and obligation when it comes to protecting classified information. They also said that any member of the Navy SEAL who revealed secret details of the mission will possibly face judicial consequences since it is already a great violation of the law.
