Oscar de la Renta death - At the age of 82, the famous fashion designer Oscar de la Renta bid farewell to the glamorous life of Hollywood. De la Renta died in his Connecticut home after battling cancer for so long. Now, a private funeral has been held for the designer in New York City were a number of renowned fashion designers have come to say their final goodbyes.

Obviously, Oscar de la Renta's death rocked the fashion world. A number of his celebrity fans expressed their shock from Twitter to Facebook and Instagram. It was obvious that the 82-year old designer and his creations were one of a kind and were very well loved.

On Monday, a number of celebrities including renowned fashion designers have headed to New York City for a private funeral following Oscar de la Renta's death last month. The funeral was reportedly held at a church located at the Upper East Side of Manhattan.

"It was a beautiful ceremony," shared a member of the choir, Heather Petrie in an exclusive report by Reuters, adding, "It was a celebration of life" with "lots of music, an orchestra, a full choir and a soloist."

A number of Fashion designer namely Anna Wintour, Tommy Hilfiger, Vera Wang, Michael Kors, Valentino to Diane von Furstenberg were spotted at the private ceremony. Annie Leibovitz, the famous fashion photographer was also in attendance at the funeral held for Oscar de la Renta's death.

Celebrities close to the designer such as Hillary Clinton and Chelsea Clinton also attended the funeral. The Bush family members namely Jenna, Barbara and Laura, were also present. The editor for Vanity Fair, Graydon Carter, also made an attendance. Other notable individuals at the funeral held for Oscar de la Renta's death include the First Lady of the Dominican Republic, Candida Montilla.
