Mike Tyson admits being abused as a child during his recent interview in Opie Radio show on Wednesday.
The boxing legend recently revealed something big about his personal life. Although he already shared the story about his difficult childhood in his autobiography entitled "Undisputed Truth" released in 2013, his newest revelation is something that is not written in the said book.
While attending the radio show to promote "Mike Tyson Mysteries", the former champ just drops a bomb to its hosts. Show hosts Opie and Jim Norton were in complete shock after their guest to share his past as a sexually abused child. After the big revelation, the three of them are left in a great silence, but it was then followed up a question about when the tragic past incident happened.
"I was a little kid, 7," he said.
According the 48 year-old boxing icon, his tragic past happened 41 years ago when an old man suddenly snatched him off the streets. When asked if the incident continue to happen, he revealed that it only happened once and he never saw the man again.
"[The man] bullied me, sexually abused me and stuff... snatched me off the street. I was a little kid. Never seen him again," Mike Tyson says about the painful experience.
The boxing champ continues to admit by saying that he ran to escape his abductor. His recent revelation actually came as a huge surprise to the show since he confessed that he never told anyone about the said incident in his past. Despite of what happened, he said that he continues to live a normal life and that he is not actually ashamed or embarrassed by it.
Following the big revelation, Mike Tyson's rep released a statement saying that the former boxer is currently in a good place with his family and career despite of the fact that he has been abused as a seven year-old child.
