Eric Frein parents have declined to comment on the capture of their 31-year old son. The man hunt in Pennsylvania that took almost two months came at an end Thursday night. Following his first court appearance, the FBI most wanted man this 2014 could face death penalty.
The FBI most wanted, Eric Frein, is wanted for the murder of Cpl. Bryon Dickson and causing critical injuries to Trooper Alex Douglass. Frein open fired on his victims Sept. 12. After the shooting, Frein had hid away from authorities for seven weeks but officials managed to track down his locations after a call made to Eric Frein parents.
Frein had been captured at an abandoned hangar in Tannersville. During the routine sweep, Frein was caught by surprise and unarmed. Having nowhere to escape, the FBI most wanted criminal had been captured and arrested. Eric Frein's parents have yet to comment on the capture of their son but his sister, Tiffany" claims she doesn't "know how to handle it."
Aside from Eric Frein's parents, parents in the community of Pennsylvania are glad that the man hunt is over and done with. Normal school activities will now ensue with Frein behind bars.
"My kids have missed a lot of school. Even after the excused absences, and they said that school was open, I was still terrified," stated Allyson Schmon in a report by WFMZ, adding, "They've had field trips, any outside activities, recess, everything taken away, so it's definitely a relief."
Though Eric Frein's parents undoubtedly feel relief over the capture of their son, the parents of slain Cpl. Dickson are relieved over the arrest of Frein.
"It doesn't change our circumstances," stated Darla Dickson to MCall, adding, "It just changes how we'll view the next few days with some relief in our hearts."
Are Eric Frein's parents to blame for their sons' actions? Frein's father was a retired Army Major that had trained the 31-year old to "never miss." For now, Frein is under investigation and District Attorney Raymond Tonkin is pushing for death penalty in Frein's case.
