Alison Sweeney Twitter star took to social media to tell her fans and followers that she has decided to leave "Days of Our Lives" after being on the show for 21 years. The last episode of "The Biggest Loser" host on the soap TV drama as Sami Brady aired on Thursday afternoon.
Sweeney has been hosting "The Biggest Loser" for eight years, a fact that has prevented her fans from questioning her loyalty to her job.
She was actually not the first person to play the role of the troubled, trouble-making Brady. However, as soon as she wore those shoes, there was certainly no going back.
While she was portraying Brady's character, she chased after various men, was part of a love-hate pair, gave birth to four children, was literally attacked and fired back, and was dubbed as one of the most memorable characters of the internationally popular long-running drama.
"No question - I am #teamSami," Alison Sweeney Twitter star wrote, "I have always rooted for her to finally stop putting her foot in her mouth, being her own worst enemy, eternally needing her parents' approval. Oh, this list could go on and on."
She was only 16 years old when she first took on the role of Sami Brady. She told Queen Latifah on Thursday that there were some challenges that she had to face while she grew up on camera, in front of her fans and the show's loyal audience.
"I was a bit thicker when I was a kid and it was hard for me to get used to people commenting on my weight," Alison Sweeney Twitter star shared. "I feel like I got to be a better person, a better actor for the wonderful fans that are out there."
She also noted on her Facebook page that she will be missing all of her fans who supported her while she was on "Days of Our Lives." She asked them to keep supporting her as she continues to host "The Biggest Loser"
"I'm still going to be around, okay?" Alison Sweeney Twitter star told her fans. "So, this isn't really goodbye. At least, it isn't goodbye for me. This is just my opportunity to say a great, big, sincere, tearful, THANK YOU. For everything. Every cheer, every tear, every tweet, post, and letter."
