Rosanna Scotto injured while on the job at the ice skating rink at Rockefeller Center on Wednesday. The co-host of "Good Day New York" fell hard on the ice and broke her wrist and elbow while she was shooting a segment for the show.
By Thursday afternoon, Rosanna Scotto injured was reportedly out of surgery and doing well.
She hurt herself while she and her co-host, Greg Kelly, were racing each other on the ice. Scotto fell down nearly half a lap into the race. The video has been posted on the Internet, showing the show host falling quite awkwardly on her left wrist and right elbow.
Despite the injury, Scotto admits that she was the one to blame for her injury. "I hurt myself on that one," Scotto said right after she fell. "I think I did. All right, I'm fine."
Kelly told Page Six, "Rosanna took a bad fall. She broke her wrist and fractured her elbow and will need surgery. But, she is a trouper and making jokes about it a minute later."
JoJo Starbuck, former US Olympian and three-time US pair skating champion, helped Rosanna Scotto injured out of the rink.
Scotto has already been cleared to get back to work, but she will be needing further treatment. She will most likely be wearing a hard cast and have to undergo rehabilitation for her broken joints. Still, it would appear that Rosanna Scotto injured is not going to let her injures stop her from doing her job.
"I'm hanging tough," Scotto said on Thursday morning. "The worst part is just trying to get around." According to a source, Scotto is confident that she will be back on-air by tomorrow.
