Ebola NYC patient - Another case of an Ebola infected individual has been noted in the United States. However, this time around it isn't in Texas but in the Big Apple. A doctor who had been treating Ebola infected patients is now the latest victim to the deadly disease.
The Ebola NYC patient has been identified as Dr. Craig Allen Spencer. Spencer had recently taken trips to three countries were Ebola outbreak was recorded. After travelling from West Africa, the Ebola NYC patient had not noticed the symptoms until Thursday morning when he had then developed a fever.
Spencer had been rushed to the Bellevue Hospital located in Manhattan. Tests are now being conducted on the Ebola NYC patient. With regards to his condition, medical representatives of the hospital claim Spencer is "in good shape" and had only experienced symptoms of Ebola in a "very brief period of time."
Following the case of an Ebola NYC patient, officials of New York City have already taken measures to locate the people who had been in close proximity with Spencer. In addition, flyers containing information about Ebola virus have also been distributed amongst New York City folk.
"The important thing to remember here is until we have full information ... we can't draw conclusions," stated New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, adding, "Our understanding is that very few people were in direct contact with him."
Spencer, who has been the fourth Ebola NYC patient, had reportedly travelled to Guinea but stopped at Brussels and Belgium before arriving at the JFK Airport. The doctor had arrived in New York City on Oct. 17.
Before the Ebola NYC patient, three other cases of Ebola had been recorded in the United States. The first case was that of Thomas Duncan, who had travelled from Liberia, and two nurses who had been treating Duncan namely Amber Vinson and Nina Pham.
