Cure For Ebola Found: Canada To Ship 800 Vials of Experimental Vaccine, China Claims To Have Found Cure

Cure for Ebola found - Canada is reported to send out 800 vials of an experimental drug set out to cure the Ebola outbreak. The cure for Ebola found is an experimental drug named VSV-EBOV. All 800 vials had been tested on primates and showed positive results.

The cure for Ebola found in Canada named VSV-EBOV will be shipped out to the World Health Organization. 800 vials in three shipments will be sent out in an announcement made Saturday.

"This vaccine, the product of many years of scientific research and innovation, could be an important tool in curbing the outbreak. We will continue to work closely with the WHO to address some of the ethical and logistical issues around using this experimental vaccine in the fight against Ebola," stated Canada's chief public health officer, Gregory Taylor.

The experimental vaccine had been developed in Canada's National Microbiology Laboratory. VSV-EBOV was made by combining weak version of vesicular stomatitis virus and the protein of the Ebola virus. Such vaccine then triggers a response by the immune system. Antibodies will be produced to fight Ebola. This vaccine works the same way a flu shot would.

Aside from Canada, a cure for Ebola found is also reported in China. A pharmaceutical company named Sihuan Pharmaceutical Holdings Group Ltd. has worked with the Academy of Military Medical Sciences is reported to have made an experimental drug as well effective in curing Ebola. Unlike the cure for Ebola found in Canada named VSV-EBOV, the cure for Ebola found in China is named JK-05.

"They are looking at this very seriously ... and we could get on the 'green light' track," stated Che Fengsheng, chairman of Sihuan Pharmaceutical Holdings Group Ltd.

The cure for Ebola found in China, JK-05, had been effective on mice. It has been developed for over five years but human trials have yet to begin.
