Reese Witherspoon Arrest: ‘Legally Blonde’ Actress Recounts Last Year’s Altercation And Says, ‘I Made A Mistake’

Reese Witherspoon arrest for disorderly conduct last year confused her fans. She has cemented a good girl reputation, one that she has been loved for, in her movies, such as "Walk the Line", "Legally Blonde", and "Sweet Home Alabama."

She was charged for disorderly conduct and her husband, Jim Toth, was charged for DUI. Moreover, a video of the arrest surfaced online, showing the beautiful actress asking the police officer, "Do you know my name? You're about to find out who I am. You are going to be on national news."

Reese Witherspoon arrest was one of the biggest celebrity stories of 2013. Now, a year and a half later, she rehashed her experience and spoke up about it at the BFI London Film Festival.

"I think it was a moment where people realized that I wasn't exactly what they thought I was," she told the press. "I guess, maybe, we all like to define people by the way the media presents them, and I think that I showed I have a complexity that people didn't know about."

Reese Witherspoon then added, "It's part of human nature. I made a mistake. We all make mistakes. The best you can do is say 'Sorry' and learn from it and move on."

Reese Witherspoon arrest ended up pleading no contest to physical obstruction last year for adamantly disobeying the orders of the police officer. She was ordered to stay in the car when her husband was pulled over, but the actress opted to get out and give the officer a piece of her mind.

Toth pled guilty to the DUI charge and got a sentence of 40 hours of community service. He was also ordered to attend an alcohol education program and received 12 months of probation.

Moreover, even after the Reese Witherspoon arrest incident, the actress was caught on video getting a bit on the wild side, even cursing, at a Met Ball after party last May. Cara Delevingne, who was also at the event, posted the video on Instagram but immediately deleted it.
