American Airlines had to have an emergency landing after its cabin walls started to break apart as its passengers, absolutely terrified, had no choice but to look on and shout for help. One of the passengers, James Wilson, said that he felt something was wrong when the fuselage started to shake violently and heard some popping noises outside the plane.
It was a San Francisco to Dallas flight on Monday when passengers of the Boeing 757 of American Airlines had a trembling fuselage while in the air. The travelers heard popping from outside the airplane shortly after taking off.
The passengers were scared that the plane would crash as they saw the interior panels on both sides of the cabin pull apart from the walls, exposing the insulation. Plus, they also reportedly felt a change in the cabin pressure because of a possible blown air duct.
Mr. Wilson informed the Associated Press, "It was the whole Row 14 on all sides, from the floor to the ceiling."
He also told ABC7, "All of a sudden, we heard this loud 'pop, pop, pop,' really loud and this ripping sound. It sounded like bowling balls were falling from the overhead bins. It was terrifying. We didn't know what was going on. We were all shouting for the flight crew, 'Come look the walls are caving in!'"
He was seated on Row 16 said that the flight crew were "pulling the panels apart and looking for daylight behind there." He started to fear for the worst and even sent text messages to his wife, in case the plane crashed.
He pleaded with his Facebook friends to contact his wife for him just in case his messages were not able to go through. He wrote, "American Flight 2293 depressurized and started coming apart mid-air. Please pray for us."
