ISIS militants defend their enslavement of women and children in an article published in the newest issue of their magazine published on Sunday.
Dabiq, the English-language online magazine created by the extremist group recently released news containing the reasons behind their brutal acts against the Yazidi women they have captured. The group states that their practice of selling women wherein some are only children is based on the theological rulings of early Islam. According to the written article, the rebel group referred the Yazidis as pagans and infidels.
"Their creed is so deviant from the truth that even cross-worshipping Christians for ages considered them devil worshippers and Satanists," the article entitled as "The Revival of Slavery Before the Hour" says.
As the article continues to differentiate the Yazidi women, the ISIS militants also detail its enslavement of women and children of the said ethnic group. The article also claims that the captured Yazidi women are being divided according to the Sharia or Islamic law among the fighters of the group and are then sold.
More than 10,000 Yazidis have reportedly run for their lives while hundreds of them were killed when the rebel group invaded Sinjar in August. Most of the people are now displaced in parts of northern Iraq while many of the women and children have been taken during the siege. The article about the enslavement of women published by the ISIS-manipulated magazine actually came after the Iraq's Human Rights Ministry said that the militants have already abducted hundreds of women.
The article does not state if the extremists' enslavement of the Yazidi women also includes making them as sex slaves; however, they label the girls as concubines. The Yazidis are said to be the most conservative community which actually considers being sexually assaulted as a bug taboo. An escaped prisoner recently revealed that they do not let the ISIS militants to touch them as much as they can.
