Ebola News Update: Dallas Confirms New Patient Infected with the Deadly Virus [VIDEO+REPORT]

Dallas names another Ebola patient who tested positive for the virus on Sunday.

Latest updates about the deadly infection which began in the West part of Africa reveals that the U.S. has another patient who contracted the disease. According to a recent report, a female nurse identified as Nina Pham, is the newest victim of the disease in the country, marking the incident as the first ever case of transmission of the deadly virus. The infected health care worker is actually the one who treated Thomas Duncan, the first infected person in the U.S. who died on Wednesday.

Pham's case is now raising concerns and also questions the ability of the U.S. hospitals to contain the Ebola virus and prevent its spread. It was known that the Dallas nurse who is now named as the newest patient carrying the infection was actually wearing a complete protective gear while taking care of Duncan during his stay in the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital.

Aside from the growing doubt about the country's readiness in containing the virus, a huge amount of fear is also increasing, especially about its transmission. World Health Organization (WHO) already said that more than 8,000 individuals have been infected with the deadly virus while the number of deaths also increases.

Although the Dallas nurse infected with Ebola is currently isolated, health officials do not consider her as a high risk patient. Other 18 hospital employees are also being monitored for any signs of infection while CDC is also eyeing 48 individuals who reportedly had contact with Duncan before his admission in the hospital while they also CDC believe that nurse' case is a result of a breach in the hospital's protocol.

While the nurse remains under observation, her dog which also lives with her in her apartment will not be euthanized. The decision was made by Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings since he believes that the dog is a very important to the Ebola patient.
