"Walking Dead" season 5 finally made its debut last night which has got a lot of people talking about the action-packed episode. Apart from having to deal with the cannibals from "Terminus," "Walking Dead" season 5 showed the return of a favourite character. Plus, two cast members talk about more standalone episodes in the fifth season.
For those who changed the channel the last minute after the credits rolled in, the ending of the first episode of the "Walking Dead" season 5 had one main character to show. Returning after his last episode in season 3, Morgan returns in the "Walking Dead" season 5.
If Morgan was the image of fear in season 3, the man who showed up in the credits certainly had shown no fear of what was coming up. Morgan sets off after Rick and his group but for what reasons? Apart from Morgan, another comeback comes in the form of Carol.
Turning deadlier by the minute, Carol shoots Mary in the leg before leaving her for dead with a couple of walkers. Aside from becoming a full blown bad ass in "Walking Dead" season 5, Carol also showed off her emotional side with her reunion with Rick and Daryl.
Apart from the blood pumping action and tear jerking moments to look forward to in the "Walking Dead" season 5, fans should definitely look forward to more standalone episodes this season.
"Yeah, absolutely more backstory. It's not going to be the same kind of structure as last year, but that element is absolutely there. We're going to get some backstory, though maybe not back-backstory. We're going to get more immediate backstory, from the characters' more recent pasts. There's something about The Walking Dead that, in many ways, exists almost wholly in the present," stated Gimple.
The next episode of "Walking Dead" season 5 airs on Oct. 19, Sunday on AMC.
