Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Nominees: From Green Day To Nine Inch Nails And The Smiths

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees for 2015 have finally been announced. The list shows a number of rock and roll bands that prove they deserve the nominations. Included in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees are Green Day, The Smiths, Nine Inch Nails and more.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees for 2015 "represents a broad, diverse group of artists and demonstrates how rock 'n' roll has evolved over the years" stated Joel Peresman. Peresman is the CEO and president of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation.

New names on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees include Nine Inch Nails, Green Day, Bill Withers and The Smiths. In addition to the first time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees are Chic, The Marvelettes, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, N.W.A., the Spinners, Kraftwerk and War and the Paul Butterfield Blues Band. Other artists on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees include Stevie Ray Vaughan and the late Lou Reed. The artist, Lou Reed, had passed away last fall.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees will have to gain votes from the public, which start Dec. 9. As for the ceremony, it is slated to be held on April 18 in the home of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, Cleveland.

The complete Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees include: Green Day, the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Chic, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, Kraftwerk, the Marvelettes, N.W.A., Nine Inch Nails, Lou Reed, the Smiths, the Spinners, Sting, War, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Bill Withers.

Voting for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees may be done through Rolling Stone and USA TODAY. Fans can also log into the official Rock Hall site to cast their votes.
