Susan Boyle Wows Audience With Her Singing Despite Throat Condition

Susan Boyle stunned Piers Morgan and Simon Cowell with the performance she had for Britain's Got Talent nearly seven years ago. They had not expected for a middle-aged singer, who was obviously extremely shy, to become internationally famous overnight.

Although she first performed on TV for Britain's Got Talent, it was actually America who appreciated her the most. In fact, just last night, she had already started her US leg of her first ever world tour. The 52-year-old belter will be making her way across the US and will be stopping off at Phoenix, Santa Barbara, and San Francisco.

Susan Boyle, or now more commonly referred to as Su-Bo, had a sell-out audience at the Balboa Theater in San Diego when she made fun of Cowell using certain hand actions as her audition was played to the crowd. She looked incredibly stunning in an amazing champagne-colored gown that fit her complexion perfectly.

Her show was to feature 28 songs, and she kicked off the night with a song of her own, "Out Here on My Own." She then followed up with the others such as, "The Winner Takes It All", "Oh Happy Days", "You Raise Me Up", and "Somewhere Over the Rainbow." Of course, as she sang all those tunes, she incorporated her signature belting capabilities, which she was able to do perfectly.

This is perhaps why it came as a bit of a surprise when Susan Boyle admitted that she was actually not feeling so well that night. "Typical, the day I open the tour, I wake up with a sore throat," said Boyle. "But, we British people carry on. As you can hear, I have a bad throat. So, I would appreciate your help tonight."

Despite her throat condition, she was still able to wow the audience. Susan Boyle even told them, "Not bad for a wee girl from Scotland, is it?"
