Rick Ross, famous Rapper, apparently wants to take his connection with the Miami Dolphins to the next level. He once name-dropped Dan Marino, renowned Dolphins legend, in one of his songs, and now, he wants to become a minority owner of the team.
He revealed during a radio interview with Power 105.1 in New York that he has already talked with the Dolphins about his ownership intentions.
"I went and sat down with the Miami Dolphins, we discussed a few things," said the rapper. "You know I've been interested in trying to buy a small percentage of the Dolphins for a long time and they finally invited me into the office and I sat with some people."
Rick Ross then continued, "It was a real positive conversation. And, when we left, they offered me to walk out through the field. It was sprayed for the game the following day, and I walked out on the field. I was excited."
Rick Ross is actually not the first celebrity to buy a portion of the Dolphins. Back in 2009, Gloria Estefan, Marc Anthony, Fergie, and the Williams sisters each brought a stake in the said team.
"I put it on the table and there were a few things they wanted to ask and discuss and so forth," Rick Ross said. "But, it was a positive situation. They ultimately decide if the time is now, or does it happen at all. I just wanted to let them know I'm a huge supporter. I would bring them a positive energy to the set, ya dig?"
It would seem that Rick Ross has quite a lot on his plate of late. Although he is pretty busy trying to get his share of ownership for the Dolphins, he is also quite busy with his music career. While he was being interviewed by Angie Martinez, he announced that he actually has a track, "Moving' Base," with Jay Z in the works.
