Ebola Outbreak 2014 Update: Ebola Patient Thomas Duncan In Dallas Dies, Health Official States 'No Risk Of Ebola' For Another Patient Showing Possible Symptoms Of Ebola

Ebola outbreak 2014 update - Thomas Duncan, the first Ebola infected patient in the US, had been confirmed dead Wednesday. Despite the death of Duncan, deputy health officials of Dallas, Texas claim there is no risk of Ebola. What else are the Ebola outbreak 2014 update?

The first Ebola patient in the US was recorded in Dallas, Texas. Thomas Duncan had come home to Dallas after his visit from Liberia last Sept. 20. Duncan was only admitted at the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital last Sept. 28 but his diagnosis of being struck with Ebola came only after two days when symptoms started to manifest. Yet, despite the constant medical attention given to Duncan, the 42-year old died on Wednesday.

In another Ebola outbreak 2014 update, Duncan's son Karsiah Duncan is currently in isolation after the death of his father. Apart from Karsiah, 10 other people have been monitored by Texas health officials. These 10 people have said to be in contact with Thomas Duncan since arriving in the states. 38 other people said to have been in close proximity with Thomas are also under observation. So far, none have showed symptoms of Ebola.

Regarding Ebola outbreak 2014 update, another patient is currently under observation at the Texas Health Presbyterian hospital. Dallas deputy Sgt. Michael Monnig was admitted for showing possible symptoms of Ebola. According to health officials, Monnig did not have any direct contact with Thomas Duncan.

"We know he didn't have direct contact with the patient (Duncan) and he doesn't have a fever, and in a situation like that there is no risk of Ebola," stated Texas Department of State Health Services spokesman, Chris Van Deusen.

As for Ebola outbreak 2014 update on finances, the UN claimed they would need $1 billion in research and funds to fight off the Ebola virus.
