This time, however, in the United States remake of the award-winning TV series. Rosie is actually a mother of Hugo, five years old, who happens to be the subject of the series' eponymous slap.

In the American remake of "The Slap," she will be joined by other stars, such as Mary-Louise Parker, Zachary Quinto, Thandie Newton, and Peter Sarsgaard. It will be steered by famous playwright Jon Robin Baitz, who also credits in "Brothers & Sisters" and "The West Wing."
"The Slap" remake is actually based on the 2011 mini-series that is of the same name. It was previously produced by the Australian national broadcaster, ABC. It was based on Christos Tsiolkas' novel in 2008, which had the same title.
It is actually about a group of friends whose relationships are torn up when one of them decides to slap the misbehaving child of another during a social gathering.
Newton was selected to portray the character of Aisha, who was previously played by Sophie Okonedo in the Australian version. Additionally, Quinto will be playing Harry, a role that was played by Alex Dimitriades in the previous version as well.
Melissa George Hunted actress and the rest of the cast for the US remake will be produced by Australia's Matchbox Pictures and University Television for NBC.
