Jane Fonda Returns To Mainstream Hollywood In ‘This Is Where I Leave You’; Fonda Shares Her Previous Experiences While Living In Her Farm

Jane Fonda admits to having a difficult time recalling a particular moment in her life that led to a big change. Although some celebrities are a bit prone to exaggeration, the actress was definitely speaking the truth.

The producer, director, author, screenwriter, philanthropist, fitness guru, screenwriter, entrepreneur was not kidding at all. She said, "I cannot begin to tell you because my whole life has been full of those moments."

The 76-year-old actress is making a comeback to mainstream Hollywood in a recent comedy drama entitled, "This is Where I Leave You," which also stars Jason Bateman and Tina Fey. She plays the role of an extremely outspoken matriarch of a highly dysfunctional family that has to come together to honor the death of their father.

Jane Fonda starts her journey down memory lane with a happy picture of her senior life while she was in her farm in New Mexico. She recalled, "I have three and a half miles of river. So, I fly-fish, build stone walls, keep horses, eat eggs from the chickens I keep and get rid of the noxious weeds in the garden."

Her previous farm life sounds very much enticing. Later, however, she pulls down her covers and admits that her ranch is actually up for sale. She admitted, "I can hike, but I can't ride anymore, even though I look okay. I know I made it sound like I'm doing all those things now, but I'm basically falling apart."

Jane Fonda added, "I suffer from osteoarthritis and, little by little, various parts of my body are being replaced and I'm sort of half metal or bionic now. So, there are a lot of things I just can't do anymore."

However, what the highly esteemed actress can still, as evidenced by her performance in "This is Where I Leave You," is act. She has provided some of the movie's funniest films, as her character, Hillary, mourns over her dead husband, while showing off her fake bust, delivers harsh truths to her adult children in the most appropriate of times, and makes no apologies at all for embarrassing her children in the books that she has published.
