Joan Rivers lawsuit - Melissa Rivers, daughter of the famous "Fashion Police" host, is reportedly set to file a lawsuit against Dr. Gwen Korovin. Investigations are currently underway with the claim that Korovin had performed an unplanned biopsy on Joan Rivers that led to her untimely death. In addition, Korovin had allegedly snapped a selfie with the unconscious "Fashion Police" host.
Melissa Rivers will be filing a lawsuit with regards to the death of her mother. At the center of the Joan Rivers lawsuit is Dr. Gwen Korovin, who happened to be Joan's physician. Aside from Korovin, Melissa will also sue the outpatient medical clinic where her mother had undergone a throat surgery, Yorkville Endoscopy.
"Melissa does plan to sue the clinic. It's very difficult to discuss something so unpleasant with her, but she is going to launch a lawsuit," stated source close to Melissa to Examiner.
Witnesses present at the Yorkville Endoscopy clinic claim to have seen Korovin perform a biopsy on Rivers, as reported by CNN. During the said biopsy, the "Fashion Police" host had lost consciousness and stopped breathing. A week later, Joan Rivers died.
Adding to the Joan Rivers lawsuit, Korovin had not only performed an unauthorized biopsy on Rivers but had also taken a selfie with the unconscious patient. Attorneys of Korovin have denied that their client had taken a selife nor having performed the biopsy. If however, the allegations of an unauthorized biopsy had been performed on Rivers by Korovin, she would face imprisonment of up to three years and felony charges.
Korovin's lawyer has refused to address the reports regarding the Joan Rivers lawsuit. In spite of the Joan Rivers lawsuit, Korovin is reportedly still seeing patients. Korovin's other patients include Celine Dion, Hugh Jackman and Lady Gaga. Investigations on the death of Rivers are currently with the New York Department of Health.
