Jules Bianchi crash at the recent Japanese Grand Prix might have seriously injured the Marussia driver. Apparently, Jules Bianchi crash rendered the 25-year-old racer unconscious as he was rushed to the hospital after the incident, which brought the rain-affected race to an early close.
The French driver started to lose control at the exact same spot where recovery vehicles were attending the Sauber of Adrian Sutil, who had also crashed in the previous lap.
Lewis Hamilton won the race. According to Hamilton's statements, he had heard that Jules Bianchi crash was "seriously injured." The crash occurred shortly after the rain became far too strong during the latter stages of the prestigious race.
Nico Rosberg, esteemed Mercedes driver, finished second to Hamilton, and he said, "My thoughts are with my colleague. They have given us some information and it seems very, very serious."
Sutil also mentioned, "It was the same as happened to me a lap before. I had aquaplaning in Turn Eight. The rain was increasing and the tires were going down. The light was going down. It was hard to see. I was following Jules very close and had a spin and hit the wall. I was okay and then, one lap later, under waved yellows, Jules was in the same trouble. I have no more information, but we are all aware of the situation that he is not in the paddock and we hope he is okay."
Sutil was then asked if Jules Bianchi crash hit the recovery crane. He only answered, "No comment on that."
The race actually kicked off under safety car conditions after a very heavy downpour on Sunday morning as storms that poured before the approaching typhoon Phanfone hit Suzuka. The race only started to get the red flags after only two laps because of the stormy weather. They started to resume the race around 20 minutes later under the safety car. After eight laps more, the conditions were then deemed to be suitable enough to resume the race.
