Dexter Season 8: Crime Drama Inspires 16-Year Old British Teenager To Murder Girlfriend, Sentenced To 25 Years Imprisonment [SHOCKING]

"Dexter" season 8 was widely talked about in 2013 given it was the final instalment to the crime drama series. However, it appears that despite the end of the psychological thriller, a number of fans still continue to watch re-runs of the show. One in particular had even been inspired by "Dexter" Season 8s Dexter Morgan to murder his own girlfriend.

A 16-year old British teenager named Steven Miles, who is reportedly obsessed with "Dexter," had murdered his girlfriend, Elizabeth Thomas. Miles had first stabbed Thomas in the head before cutting her up. He then proceeded to wrap up the body parts in cling film before placing them in garbage bags. After the murder of Thomas, Miles, who had been diagnosed to be autistic, confessed to the murder to his sister stating his alter ego named Ed had made him do "something bad."

During the court hearing, Miles declared his fascination over horror films and that he had only copied his idol, "Dexter." The series had run from 2006 to 2013 with "Dexter" Season 8 being the last. Michael C. Hall played the role of Dexter Morgan.

Steven Miles has been sentenced to 25 years in prison. Yet, Judge Christopher Critchlow stated a life sentence would have been given if Miles was of the adult age. Regarding the murder inspired from "Dexter" season 8, show producer Melissa Rosenberg had clearly stated the show had never planned to praise Dexter Morgan's actions.

"Every time you think you're identifying with Dexter and rooting for him, for us it's about turning that back on you and saying: 'You may think that he's doing good, but he's a monster. He's killing because he's a monster," stated Rosenberg to the Vancouver Sun.

"Dexter" season 8s Michael C. Hall has not yet released a statement with regards to the murder inspired by his character in the psychological thriller drama series.
