Benedict Cumberbatch Twitter: Why 'Sherlock' Star Will Never Join Twitter, Plus Actor's' Latest Role Is Richard III

Benedict Cumberbatch Twitter - Despite the number of fans the British actor has on the social media, Benedict claims he isn't likely to join the social media bandwagon soon. In fact, there's a reason as to why the actor has chosen not to join Twitter. Plus, here's all the latest on the "Sherlock" star's' next project.

There's already a growing Benedict Cumberbatch Twitter fan base and even the presence of a Benedict Cumberbatch Twitter account. Yet, the Twitter account claiming to be Benedict Cumberbatch isn't him at all. It is most likely a fake because the "Sherlock" star has already confirmed he won't be joining the Twitter bandwagon anytime soon.

"If you're trying to hoodwink by pretending to be me, that's pretty cruel. I'm not on Twitter," stated the actor during a press conference of his film, "The Imitation Game" at the recent Toronto Film Festival.

Cumberbatch, like his character Sherlock Holmes, is pretty private about his life. Yet, during the GQ Awards, the star might have had a bit too much on the drinks breaking the perfect façade that Cumberbatch can hold his end of the alcohol.

"This is wonderful. I'd like to thank James McAvoy for not being available. But seriously, it's an embarrassment of riches. I'm in one of those extraordinary rooms with extraordinary people. Thank you mum and dad for rearing me. Wait, what century am I in? I'm going to leave the stage now because I drank a lot and I need the loo," stated Benedict.

Despite Benedict already stating the obvious that he isn't on Twitter, the impostor who claims to Benedict Cumberbatch on Twitter still tweets non-stop. The account has already around 16 thousand followers.

In other Benedict Cumberbatch Twitter news, BBC Two took to Twitter to announce the actors' latest project. Benedict is set to play the role of Richard III in "The Hollow Crown: The Wards of the Roses" based on Shakespeare's plays.
